Description
John Fullbright is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, guitarist from Okemah, Oklahoma. Fullbright is a product of the Oklahoma music scene, from his youth in Bearden Oklahoma to the vibrant music culture of Tulsa, John has found his own sound and stories in the Tulsa bars and on red dirt stages. John’s musical brilliance on stage belays his low key approach to performing. He has collected national acclaim including a GRAMMY nod, an Americana Music Association Emerging Artist nomination and awards from ASCAP and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Whether he’s coming off like a rootsy road dog or a post-Tin Pan Alley piano balladeer, Fullbright consistently displays a level of lyrical finesse that would be impressive in an artist with twice as many years behind him.“deeply personal songwriting that blends the country sophistication of Kris Kristofferson with the sardonic wit of Randy Newman and the literary storytelling of James McMurtry.
~Rolling Stone
“He has figured out how understatement can lend gravity to a song. Mr. Fullbright joins the lineage of terse Southwestern songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, sticking to a few folky chords and reaching for unassailable clarity.
~New York Times

Kelly Willis – “There’s no point in being nostalgic for the generic delineations of the past. We are in the present. That’s where Kelly Willis lives, and it’s there that she sings, as keenly and movingly as any singer in the country or pop or rock present,” says No Depression.
Melissa Carper – “Melissa is one of the greatest classic golden era country singers and composers of this generation,” says Saving Country Music.
