First held at Hot Springs in 2014, “Dollars & Sense of Historic Preservation” is a day-long program designed to emphasize the economic benefits of preservation, provide information and resources on preservation incentives, and encourage use of incentives through practical, real-world examples. The agenda features a keynote address by Briana Grosicki, consultant with Ethos Preservation in Savannah, GA, as well as presentations on the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Preservation Restoration Grants, Federal and State Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, wood window repair, and success stories. The program is designed to meet the needs of chambers of commerce, private and public community and economic development organizations, realtors, owners of historic properties, planners, bankers, municipal officials, county leaders, and anyone with an interest in community and economic development.
This project has been funded in part by a grant from the Arkansas Fund of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
